About
I see all of the work I do as a collaborative process between the clients and myself. Psychotherapy, consultation and education can be as much about living a more conscious, aware and joyful life as it is about dealing with problems. I am as interested in your strengths and resources as well as your difficulties. Working in this way helps facilitate growth and change.
The ways in which I work, whether as a therapist, consultant or teacher, are used to allow the wisdom of the body/mind and spirit to arise, awaken and integrate. These practices assist you to open and awaken to your life and to the infinite possibilities available when one moves out of life on automatic pilot into conscious living.
Whether you are seeking psychotherapy, consultation, education or training we can collaborate on a plan that works for your needs. Because I no longer bill insurance I have the ability to be a lot more creative with the amount of time and number of times that I see people.
Background
I am licensed as a clinical social worker in both Washington and New Mexico. I received my Masters in Social Work in 1995 from New Mexico Highlands University and a BA in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 1992. Prior to returning to school to go into mental health I worked in a number of professions and as owner of several companies. I have worked in the mental health field since 1990 and have been in private practice since 2003. I moved my private practice to Washington in 2006. I was also a volunteer member of the UNM Hospital’s Biomedical Ethics Committee for seven years and co-facilitated MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) for the EAP at the University of New Mexico.
